"I think the religion I follow is the only true religion in the world, others deserve to rot in hell." Sounds mean isn't it? This is what happens when we have a difference of opinion and we are not ready to accept that how their differences can make us better rather than creating hatred towards them. The fact is, we as humans are not programmed to accept change but to oppose it. Very few of us have been taught to embrace change and revel in it. Some of us condition ourselves to accept change. It can only be done when we are young, you might have noticed that people who are of old age do not like to be taught new ways of the world. On the other hand, children and energetic teenagers are always excited to try new things. But of course there is a line between trying every new thing and trying good new things, but that is just straying from the real topic.
The question we must ask ourselves is, are the people who dress, speak or eat differently are so alienated that we should hate them? Or we should welcome them and try to accept who they are? The world can be a better place when we are free of prejudice and judgement. Where we are ready to accept the Gay, Transgender, or people from different religion living next door. This world is for all of us and we as its citizens should be more compassionate about sharing it with.
